NYSERDA

NYSERDA has several programs that help you lower your home or business’s energy bills, reduce your environmental impact, and/or support clean energy and transportation in New York State.


DSIRE

DSIRE (Database of State Incentives for Renewables & Efficiency), is the most comprehensive source of information on incentives and policies that support renewables and energy efficiency in the United States. Established in 1995, DSIRE is operated by the N.C. Clean Energy Technology Center at N.C. State University and is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy.


OSE- Office of Sustainable Energy (Sullivan County)

The Sullivan County Office of Sustainable Energy (OSE) works to develop cost effective projects, policies and practices that make County operations and our surrounding community more sustainable, resilient, healthy, energy efficient and environmentally responsible.

SEEDS

SEEDS is a community-based organization in Northeastern Pennsylvania committed to developing a local renewable energy infrastructure and promoting more sustainable living in our area. 


EDA- Energy Democracy Alliance

The New York Energy Democracy Alliance (EDA) is a statewide alliance of community-based organizations, grassroots groups, and policy experts working together to advance a just and participatory transition to a resilient, localized, and democratically controlled clean energy economy in New York State.


Green Jobs Green New York

The Green Jobs – Green New York (GJGNY) Program provides New Yorkers with access to energy assessments, installation services, low interest financing, and pathways to training for various green-collar careers.

The GJGNY Program delivers services in targeted communities with the support of Constituency-Based Organizations (CBOs). CBOs recruit residential, small businesses, Not-for-Profits (NFP), and multi-family building owners into the energy assessment and financing programs; and encourage individuals to take advantage of clean energy training opportunities.


Powering Sullivan Guide

Sullivan County has provided a “Powering Sullivan” guide that provides information on the many programs and resources available to help our residents, property owners, businesses and municipalities save money on energy costs, purchase electric vehicles, and switch to renewable energy generation. Climate Smart NY

State Support for Local Climate Action Climate Smart Communities (CSC) is a New York State program that helps local governments take action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to a changing climate. Benefits include leadership recognition, free technical assistance, and access to grants. An interactive map is provided to help residents look up actions taken by any of the registered Climate Smart Communities in New York State. Sullivan County has 3 Certified Bronze communities: Bethel, Tusten and Sullivan County.


Home Performance with Energy Star

This is the Home Performance with Energy Star program which provides the audit and can make financing available for those who want to pursue upgrades.


Assisted Home Performance with Energy Star

The Assisted Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program makes it easy and affordable to make the smart investment in a more energy-efficient home, helping income-eligible homeowners across the State lower their energy bills and live more comfortably all year long.


Empower New York

EmPower New York provides no-cost energy efficiency solutions to income-eligible New Yorkers. Nearly 135,000 of your neighbors are saving energy and saving money with EmPower New York — without spending a dime. Whether you own your home or rent, a participating contractor [PDF] will be assigned to you to assess if your home would benefit from free energy upgrades such as:

  • Home energy assessment to identify areas of possible energy improvements

  • Tips on how to save energy

  • Installation of high-efficiency lighting

  • Attic and wall insulation

  • Replacement of old, inefficient refrigerators and freezers

  • Water-saving showerheads


Solar For All

This program gives eligible participants up to a $15- $20 credit on their monthly electric bill with no cost to participate or payments. They would not have to install or maintain a panel on their homes, that is all done at a community solar installation in the area.
